This Week in MCJ (6/12/21)
Hi all,
We had two big events happen this week. The first was our all-hands offsite, where I got to meet the other MCJ’ers on the core team in person for the first time (besides Thai, who I met a few times pre-pandemic)! It was so great to meet them, and we covered a lot of ground, as well! We are juggling a lot right now, but we are inching our way towards turning a corner to get more great people on the full-time squad, which will enable us to move a whole lot faster. I can taste it, and just trying to keep our eyes on the prize!
Second, we had our monthly Town Hall on Friday. This was one of the largest Town Hall turnouts to-date, and also one of the most engaged Town Halls we’ve had, as well. I think it is because we ran through the slides from our offsite with (what I think is) radical transparency, including metrics, key strategic questions we are wrestling with, challenges, etc. The MCJ’ers who attended gave us some really great input, and we are excited to put some if it into action in the coming weeks!
This community is super special to me, and while I am proud of what we’ve built so far, there is so much low hanging fruit in terms of improvements we could make that would make the experience a whole lot better. It has been hard to find the resources with our paper-clipped team, but knock on wood, that will be changing very soon! Stay tuned :)
