Hi all,
As we turn our efforts to giving the community more care and feeding, a few great things happened this week! One, I attended the first ever new member orientation session, that Thai put together. I loved it! 17 people showed up, and it was so great to get to know people, hear what they want out of the platform, and give them more color on our history, reason for being, etc. We are going to make it a regular thing, great idea, Thai!
Two, I heard from Tyler that he attended the SoCal Socially Distanced Hike today, with fellow SoCal MCJ’ers. Still waiting for the pics and the details, but he said it was incredibly moving and worthwhile! We will include details in the next newsletter, as soon as I get them. There were a bunch of in-person MCJ events starting to happen in cities all around the world just before the pandemic happened, so hopefully they will start picking back up again, as we get closer to the other side!
Three, the fireside chat I did with Gene Berdichevsky on MCJ Live this week was amazing! Gene is such an impressive leader and human, the event was well attended (including a bunch of MCJ’ers!), and the one on one format allowed for a more intimate and substantive discussion, and more audience interaction. I am definitely looking to do more of these, so if you have requests for guests you’d really like to hear from, let me know! We are also very likely going to start recording these, as while the Clubhouse format is magical, the appointment-based nature of a live event and timezone issues with a global community mean that many more people who want to hear these aren’t able (even when their Android app comes soon)!
And lastly, I moderated one great discussion and was a guest on another, which were both a lot of fun!
Have a good week everyone, the weeks are sure flying by! I am getting my first dose of the vaccine Monday, so if you don’t hear from me for a bit, that is probably why :)
Jason
