Since 2019, we've had over 500 conversations with the leaders and innovators steering the energy transition. We did the math recently and realized that's more than 450 hours of recordings or about a year of lectures across a fully loaded college course schedule.
From the beginning, Jason set out to learn about climate change and explore ways to make a difference. But as these discussions have unfolded, so has our perspective:
Climate change is inevitable—it’s already here.
A changing climate will continue to disrupt our lives, impact global markets and insurance, and shape our responses in managing immediate crises and preventing future ones.
But just as climate change is inevitable, so are its solutions.
The energy transition, the rewriting of industries to be cleaner, more profitable, and more resilient, is also inevitable. Put simply, we have two sides: an energy system based on finite, increasingly costly resources that society is growing away from (even if still reliant on them), and a system driven by renewable, nearly limitless resources, with costs dropping as adoption grows. It’s inevitable which side will win. The transition won’t be uniform—some parts will move faster than we expect, others slower than we hope—but it’s happening in our lifetimes. This is a massive shift, reshaping our entire global economy.
We realized our show was also experiencing a shift. It has become less about the journey of figuring out the role that any one of us can play and much more about understanding these inevitable forces at work.
And with this shift, our new name felt obvious…

🎧 Winning the Climate War with Tom Steyer
To kick off this next chapter, our first guest is Tom Steyer, Co-Executive Chair at Galvanize Climate Solutions, author of the New York Times bestseller, Cheaper, Faster, Better: How We’ll Win the Climate War, and contributor to Project Drawdown.
In this episode, Tom and Cody discuss prioritizing "the obvious thing," the shift from fossil fuels to renewables for shared prosperity, and the importance of an all-of-society approach to climate action. Listen to the episode here.
🎧 Powering Data Centers with the Sun ft. Exowatt
Exowatt has developed a unique energy generation and storage solution that concentrates solar heat, stores it as thermal energy, and converts it into electricity on demand.
With a strong focus on meeting the intense energy demands of AI-driven data centers, Exowatt’s solution goes beyond traditional solar PV and lithium-ion storage to provide a future-ready alternative. In this episode, Hannan Parvizian, Exowatt’s CEO, shares how his company’s technology can support the shift away from fossil fuels while addressing the growing energy needs of hyperscalers.
