21 Investments, 100+ Hires, 53 Podcast Episodes: MCJ’s 2025 Impact
It’s recap season! Before the year closes, here’s a quick look at the moments that shaped MCJ in 2025.
MCJ’s 2025 Highlights:
💼 MCJ made a total of 21 investments, 13 of which are new portfolio companies.
💸 We deployed over $15M into companies working in clean energy, abundance, infrastructure resilience, and new industrialism.
🤠 MCJ organized an “Energy + AI” event in Austin, TX with some of our local portfolio companies, plus we recorded a live episode of the Inevitable podcast with Cully Cavness, COO of Crusoe (listen below!).
👨🏫 Cody started as a lecturer at the UCLA Anderson School of Management, where he teaches impact investing and coaches MBA students on investment sourcing and diligence.
🤵♂️ David danced with his daughter at her wedding, where both of his parents were in attendance.
🛶 Yin went on a multi-day backcountry kayak trip with her 8 year old and can’t forget watching our portfolio founders shine during MCJ summit.

☢️ Casey connected with MCJ founders Cully (Crusoe), Matt (Aalo) and Gabe (Moment Energy) about the ethics of nuclear power and how hard it is to start a company at our dinner in Austin, TX.
📚 Courtney read 39 books this year, just one book short of her goal.
💍 Jenn got married in Mexico, which turned out to be excellent preparation for organizing MCJ Summit.
🧶 Lauren learned to knit and took French courses, in addition to coordinating MCJ’s Austin event.
