📢 Action of the Week
Sign up for the next Climate Changemakers Hour of Action here.
Write a letter to the editor or op-ed on the importance of electrifying buildings. President Biden recently invoked the Defense Production Act to stimulate the production of heat pumps, but we need Congress to help make electric appliances affordable to everyone. Submit a short opinion piece to a local or online publication to spread awareness and grab the attention of policymakers.
📍 Get Local
This week’s local climate issue of note, brought to you by Climate Cabinet.
2000+ cities and towns own their very own utility as a public good. These municipal utilities — from Glendale, CA to Columbia, MO to Tallahassee, FL — have the potential to make big climate strides by moving to 100% renewable energy. That’s why it’s exciting to see so many climate leaders running for office to lead these utilities. These individuals are able to negotiate contracts with coal and gas plants and move their city to a cleaner, more resilient grid. You can find and support municipal leaders running to shape their utilities’ future at ClimateSlate.com
